Albany Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham

O with what joy we sing of Mary, a woman of great love, whose openness and loving kindness, gave birth to God’s own son. Mary, O so gentle and discreet, be with us as we pray to know the whisper of his presence, the wonder of his love.

The Church of the Holy Cross is home of the Albany Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and the parish also enjoys connection to the Albany Diocesan Ward of The Society of Mary (Ward of St. Mary Queen of All Saints).

We have a candle lit for the Diocese of Albany and warmly invite pilgrims and visitors to come and spend time at this special shrine, encountering the incarnate presence and love of Jesus anew.

Prayer to Our Lady of Walsingham

O Mary, recall the solemn moment when Jesus, thy Divine Son, dying upon the cross, confided us to thy maternal care. Thou art our Mother, we desire ever to remain thy devout children. Let us therefore feel the effects of thy powerful intercession with Jesus Christ. Make thy Name again glorious in that place once renowned by thy visits, favours, and many miracles. Pray, O holy Mother of God, for the conversion of England, restoration of the sick, consolation for the afflicted, repentance of sinners, peace to the departed. O blessed Mary, Mother of God, our Lady of Walsingham, intercede for us. Amen.
