RIP: Marie Fisher

Marie G. (Herrick) Fisher, 93, of Warrensburg Road, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the Warren Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Queensbury.
Born November 18, 1922 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Emily (Grant) Herrick.
Marie was a longtime resident of Warrensburg, before relocating to Stony Creek in 1987 with her husband, Louis T. Fisher; he passed away two years later.
She was employed by the Warrensburg Central School as secretary to the Superintendent for 26 years and District Treasurer for the last 10 years, before retiring in 1985.
Marie was a member of The Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg for many years, where she also served as organist.
In addition to her parents, and late husband, Marie was predeceased by a son, Louis H. Fisher who passed away in 1997, sister, Norma Herrick Turpin in 1971, her son, Michael Fisher in 2015, and step-sisters, Lenore Smith and Shirley Fisher, respectively in 2015 and 2016.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas Fisher and his wife, Sandra, of Stony Creek; and Grant Fisher and his wife, Alice, of Delmar; two daughters, Carol Kelly of Auburn, WA, and Joan O’Bryan of Harrisville. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends may call on Marie’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, October 14, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, at The Church of the Holy Cross, 3764 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Thomas Pettigrew, Rector officiating.
Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Marie’s memory to The Church of the Holy Cross, 3764 Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885.
